Water Drake

Water Drake

Drakes were draconic creatures that were distantly related to wyverns. They were smaller and not as powerful as dragons but were much easier to train, so they were commonly used as mounts. Not quite sea serpent or dragon, this vicious beast is covered with shiny blue-green scales. Its arms serve as both wings and flippers. A water drake can, as a standard action, breathe a ball of electricity that strikes one target first, then arcs to other targets like chain lightning. The most solitary of all drakes, water drakes prefer to hunt alone. Occasionally, however, they band together in packs to hunt larger prey. Such rampages can be a significant danger to coastal shipping.

Water drakes are commonly found on the Elemental Plane of Water.

Water Elemental Weird

Water Elemental Weird

The Elements are known as one of the many primal sources of magic. Mortal mages and even beings of the outer planes draw on the energies of the Inner Planes to fuel their magic, but elemental weirds, as beings of the elements themselves, surpass them all at drawing on raw elemental power. For an elemental to become an elemental weird is to drink deep from the wellspring of magic, soar on the winds of fate, cast sorceries as the roots of the mountains, and burn with the fires of power, fully seizing their birthright as elementals. Those elementals and genasi who walk this path gain a terrifying mastery of the magics of the elements.

Elemental weirds are sometimes called the archons of the elements but they not really celestial but instead advanced elementals that can cast spells and use weapons and armor.

The water elemental weird is a humanoid elemental made up on water that wears a helmet, full armor and normally carries a long handled axe. They have a fierce temper and like to slaughter and drown their enemies. Like most creatures of the water element they worship the water god Istishia and found on the Elemental Plane of Water.

Storm Genasi

Storm Genasi

Genasi were human-derived planetouched infused with the power of the elemental planes, most often as the result of crossbreeding between humans and the powerful genie races or other elementals that dwell in such planes,. Physically powerful and cunning, genasi were a varied race with abilities that varied depending on their lineage and individual experience. Genasi were in a constant state of elemental energy, having no “neutral” state they could fall back on. Each genasi had a native elemental state, known as a “manifestation,” which was passed down to them through their ancestry. Genasi had a number of special abilities granted to them by their elemental heritage. As a rule, Genasi tended to be both stronger and smarter than most other humanoid races, traits which served them well. However, other abilities varied depending on a genasi’s elemental manifestation, although some genasi learned to manifest more than one element at a time or to enhance their natural elemental abilities. Genasi as a culture, likely due to the inherently chaotic nature of their psyche and bodies alike, have a strong affinity for change and chaos. Many genasi philosophers, recognizing now with the arrival of Abeiran genasi that all of the race have the same origin in crossbreeding, believe that their race was originally created as a compromise between the chaos of the primordials and the divinely crafted world of the gods.

The storm genasi are different from the other genasi the template of storm is not one of the main four elements. Also known as stormsoul, purple skinned genasi with silvery szuldar and most commonly a crown of crystalline silver spikes coming from the head or they have white or silver hair. Storm genasi are more common as pirates, sorcerers or mages. They worship the normally the goddess Umberlee or the war god Tempus. Storm genasi originally come from the Elemental plane of Water.

Brine Dragon

Brine Dragon

Unlike typical dragons the brine dragon is a rare site and more commonly found on the Elemental Plane of Water. The brine dragon looks like a blue dragon except that it does not have the massive rhino horn on its snout. The brine dragon normally like to be powerful rulers and when found on Esperia they torment the coastlines or try to take rulership of a city or town.

They are strong worshipers of Umberlee unlike other dragons of evil that worship Tiamat. They sometimes start massive wars when they can converts lesser beings like sahuagins or locathahs to be minions. They dislike merfolk and aquatic elves over all other beings. The brine dragon has a massive breath weapon that drain the strength of its target and they use their vast power to over turn ships.

Although not inherently evil, brine dragons have little patience for kindness and philanthropy. As they age, they grow more and more opinionated and obsessed with power—by adult age, a brine dragon counts itself a failure if it doesn’t rule over a collection of “lesser beings” such as humans, merfolk, locathah, or even sahuagin.

Janni Genie

Janni Genie

The jann (singular janni) are the weakest of the genies. Jann are formed out of all four elements and must therefore spend most of their time on the Esperia. Some lore even casts the janni as the most “human” of the genie races, although most jann are quick to correct this insult, usually with the edge of a sword.

Jann are physically strong and courageous, and do not take kindly to insult or injury. Most are quite prone to seeing insult even when none is intended by the speaker. If overwhelmed in battle, they escape using flight and invisibility, returning later with reinforcements.

Jann enjoy their privacy, preferring the solitude of the deep desert and isolated oases. They are usually suspicious of humans, but are often willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Jann have a strong cultural tradition of hospitality, and will never turn away someone in need of food, water, or shelter, though they might expect payment in the form of a favor at some later date.

Among the other genie races, jann generally have good relations with both djinn and shaitans. While not actively enemies, jann dislike the proud and aloof marids. Jann have a distinct aversion to the efreet, who often try to enslave them or conscript them into their armies.

Rusalka

Rusalka

Rusalkas are female spirits who dwell in lakes, rivers, and streams. Their beguiling song is known to lure men to watery graves. Their clothing is usually nothing more than a gown or shawl, and some rusalkas go bare skinned. Some believe rusalkas to be the restless spirits of drowned maidens, tied to the place of their deaths. However, they are in fact water spirits.

Most of the time, just one rusalka inhabits a body of water, but sometimes a small covey lives in an area. Rusalkas generally lead lonely lives, but some tales indicate that vodyanoi take rusalka wives. To ease their loneliness, these fey often use their song to entice men to join them. Some evil or neutral rusalkas are content to let their victims drown, while good rusalkas might confer water breathing upon enamored mortals. Relationships between willing mortals and rusalkas are doomed to end in sadness.

The rusalka inevitably frees her paramour or forces him to leave by refusing to give him the ability to breathe water when she realizes he is not truly content to live in her world beneath the water’s surface.

Rusalkas speak Aquan, Common, and Sylvan.
