Topaz dragons were selfish and had an erratic personality which made them dangerous to deal with. They are normally found in large to huge in size and have glitter yellow like scales.
Topaz dragons normally can be found on the Quasi-elemental Plane of Steam but can be found on Esperia located near sandy shores.
Topaz dragons breathed a cone of dehydration.
Steel dragons love to have human and demihuman companions, and they prefer to live amid the hustle and bustle of great cities. They often pose as sages, scholars, mages, or other intellectuals.
At birth, a steel dragon’s scales are deep blue-gray with steely highlights. As the dragon approaches adulthood, its color slowly lightens to that of lustrous burnished steel. When these dragons take on human form, they always have one steel-gray feature-hair, eyes, nails, or sometimes a ring or other ornament.
Steel dragons try not to go into combat as they find conversation the better but if threaten they will use spells or the steel dragon’s breath weapon of a cube of toxic gas.
Steel dragons prefer human lodgings that are well equipped with strong rooms or vaults to protect their treasures.
Steel dragons prefer human form to their own, and they always have mortal companions. They are endlessly curious about human and demihuman art, culture, history, and politics. They always keep their true nature secret, but they are able to recognize each other.
Like other neutral dragons the steel dragons normally worship Bahamut.
Native to the windswept plane of Pandemonium, howling dragons are brilliant, scheming, and quite insane. The howling dragon is pink in colour with lines of dark purple, longspines form a frill around its head, and twin clusters of similar spines sprout from its shoulders.
Howling dragons make their lairs in isolated caverns amid the twisting tunnels of their native plane. When they find their way to the Material Plane, they seek out similar terrain, and are thus usually encountered far underground. They roam widely in the territory surrounding their lair, exploring every narrow crevice and tunnel. Howling dragons feed on any creatures they can catch— living, undead, or even construct. They enjoy the sensation of biting into a still-moving morsel.
A howling dragon has two types of breath weapon, a cone of howling sound that deals sonic damage, or a cone of maddening wails.
Song dragons are a rare and mysterious race of dragons that prefer life among humanity to the company of other dragons. They can freely take on the form of a human woman, and in this guise they live among humankind, revealing their true nature only in times of personal peril or great crisis. In their natural form, song dragons are slim and splendid dragons with iridescent silver-blue scales and the general shape of a copper dragon. In human form, they appear to be attractive women of 20 to 30 years in age. They retain full knowledge and awareness regardless of form, and most are consummate actors, so that humans are usually unaware of a song dragon’s identity.
Song dragons strike quickly and mercilessly with their razor-sharp claws and tend to sing joyously as they fight. A song dragon has one breath weapon, a cone of electrically charged gas. Song dragons can freely use an ability much like ploymorph alterself to human form.
Song dragons often serve or cooperate with good mages and groups and individuals with similar aims or opportunities to preserve, renew, and protect the land.
Song dragons like other good dragons worship the god Bahamut.
A faerie dragon is a mischievous branch of the dragon family tree. Faerie dragons are extremely small in comparison to their large metallic dragon, or chromatic dragon cousins, only about one to two feet long. They have iridescent scales that reflect all colors of the rainbow. They have platinum colored butterfly-like wings and a long, prehensile tail.
A faerie dragon prefers to deal with enemies from a distance. They use their magical abilities to confuse and bewilder foes.
Like all dragons they have the tendancy to be pranksters, although they take it to a whole new level.
The faerie dragon’s breath weapon is a cone of euphoria gas.
They normally travel in groups and have been seen with faeries, pixies, and sprites. Faerie Dragons build their lairs out of spider silk, dry grass and leaves, and twigs and small sticks within the branches of the trees or make their lairs out of the hollows of the trees.
A fang dragon is a greedy, rapacious, and cunning creature sometimes known as the grey dragon. Fang dragons are poor flyers, with small muscled wings. Their eyes tend to be either red or orange. Their heads are edged with spikes or horns. Their bodies tend to be covered in boney plates that end in spurs at the joints, and their tails are forked with scythe-like tips.
These dragons are also susceptible to bouts of seemingly random outbursts of rage and violence. They can typically speak a small handful of languages, and they use this ability in order to negotiate their way out of situations that could result in difficult or even deadly battles. They will seal up their lairs with boulders or other materials before leaving them, usually in the hunt for food, which they prefer to find far from their homes. Their diet consists of flesh, of which they prefer that of intelligent animals.
Fang dragons are masters of physical combat, and every part of their body is lethal. They have a tendency to play with their food in a cruel way.
Deep dragons, also known as purple dragons live in the deep Underdark. Deep dragons are thin, have large wings and a long serpent like neck. They are unsocial species of dragon, ability to scale walls and ceilings with the likeness of a gecko, extremely vicious but can be distracted if given a large enough gift.
Deep dragons use their mighty claws to dig into the solid ground, they have a breath weapon of flesh-corrosive gas.
Deep dragons love treasure (don’t all dragons?) and when they use a humanoid form it is normally a drow.
Deep dragons worship the dragon goddess Tiamat.
A dracolich is an undead dragon that possesses certain abilities of a lich. A dracolich resembles a normal, living dragon at first, but as time goes by, it ages and begins to partially decompose, eventually coming to resemble a corpse.
Despite its wretched appearance, a dracolich is a very powerful opponent with a correspondingly high challenge rating, due in part to the minions and weapons they tend to possess. Evil chromatic dragons like black, blue and red dragons usually become dracoliches, because of the evil magic involved in their creation; however, rumors spread about other kinds of dragons submitting to the process as well.
Dracoliches are created from evil dragons through powerful necromantic magics. Essentially, it involves the dragon dying and then taking over its own corpse. It also gains a vessel called a phylactery, or soul jar, in which its spirit is stored. The soul continues to exist even after the destruction of the body, and can only be killed by the destruction of the phylactery itself.
An organization known as the Cult of the Dragon is responsible for inventing the method of the dracolich creation. The organization has also created several other undead dragon varieties, as well as other dragon-like monsters including the dracimera (a dragon-chimera) and the mantidrake (a dragon-manticore).
Brown dragons, also known as great desert dragons, were ferocious dragons that lived under the desert sands. They had sand colored scales, though unlike other types of dragon their scales were leathery. They had small webbed claws and very large, long mouths. They are the most adept diggers, speeding under loose sand very fast.
A brown dragon’s breath weapon was a line of acid, which reduced most animals to little more than sand and dust.
A brown dragon’s diet consisted of minerals, mostly sand, but they loved horseflesh.
Like other evil dragons the brown dragon worsip the evil goddess Tiamat.
White dragons may be the weakest true dragons, but their blue-scaled cousins are among the stronger drakes. This is compounded by their snow vision and icewalking abilities.
Frost drakes are blue scaled and large in size. This two-legged dragon has dull blue scales tinged with bright blue ice. A freezing mist issues from between its powerful jaws. Their wide, clawed feet enable them to easily burrow through snow, though not through dirt or clay.
Frost drakes can be found in the northern reaches of Esperia and snow blanketed tundras.
